The Online + Hands-On Medical Assistant Program at AUMT Institute is designed to prepare students for a career in healthcare as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). This accelerated training combines online learning with in-person clinical labs and includes a 160-hour externship at a local healthcare facility, providing real-world experience.

Medical Assistants play a key role in both clinical and administrative tasks. Clinically, they take vital signs, administer injections, draw blood, assist with minor procedures, and perform basic lab tests. On the administrative side, they handle scheduling, insurance forms, basic billing, and medical record filing. The program covers both front and back office operations, medical terminology, and anatomy.

The training includes 200 hours of didactic instruction followed by a 160-hour externship. Students can choose a flexible schedule: morning classes run Monday to Thursday online and Friday in person from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, while evening classes follow the same structure from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM. After completing the program, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) CCMA certification exam.
